I remember when I started fly fishing --there wasn't really much in the way of fly fishing videos that were available to a 13 year old in the mid '90s, but there was a TV show called Sport Fishing On The Fly. It still runs on WFN on Tuesday nights, but I more vividly recall the old episodes. They were more varied than today's series, had really interesting locations, and seemed more "fresh."
Friends and me would record (on VHS. Anyone remember those?) episodes weekly, then watch them again and again, until the next episode. I have an old backlog of episodes that spans several VHS tapes.
Luckily, for the rest of you, there is sfotf.ca which has lots of episodes loaded for us to enjoy at our leisure (click the watch full episode link). I encourage you to take a browse through the back-catalog, enjoy some old episodes, and set the PVR to record the show on WFN. Today's SFOTF is still a good show, albeit a little more centred on BC, especially stillwater fishing with chironomids, but each episode still has the good filming, a featured fly each episode, and they show some great fish.
I hope you each have time to check it out.
Hey guys, Happy New Year. Good post. I checked out the page and saw a lot of good viewing. Thanks and hope to talk to you soon.
